www.dropsofnourishment.comIts no wonder why Frankincense Essential Oil is referred to as “The King of Essential Oils”. You read about it in the bible, when the Three Kings brought gifts to baby Jesus with one gift being Frankincense. The ancient Egyptians used Frankincense resin for everything from perfume to salves for skin ailments. This wonderful essential oil can be used for a variety of issues you may deal with.

Frankincense is wonderful for the skin. It’s soothing and beautifying properties help rejuvenate the skin and reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. I like to add it to my face moisturizer for an all natural wrinkle reducer. If you don’t use moisturizer you can apply it with organic coconut oil, all over your face or in certain areas you want help with.

I have a customer who absolutely loves the smell of frankincense and carries a small sample with him everywhere he goes. So whenever he is feeling stressed he can whip it out breathe it in and feel more calm and at peace. I think its safe to say we have all had those kind of days where we feel like pulling out our hair. When you inhale or diffuse, Frankincense it induces feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction, and overall wellness.

I recently cut my hand pretty deep, deep enough to get 5 stitches in it. I didn’t use any oils on it at first, but I was getting tired of how long it was taking for my hand to heal. I am a mother of four with my youngest being 2 years old, doing things one handed is very inconvenient and sometimes down right impossible. Have you tried changing a messy diaper one handed? Let me tell you, it takes some skills, skills I didn’t have. So I finally came to my senses and put some frankincense essential oil on it, and with in a couple of days  I noticed a pretty big difference. I was able to use my hand more without it hurting. Doing dishes was a little easier, gripping a sippy cup so I could take on and off the lid wasn’t such a struggle anymore. Now, its not completely healed, but it is looking and feeling better, and you can bet I will keep using it to help with scarring.

The more I use it the more I understand why it is “The King of Essential Oils”. It has become my go to oil. I have used it to help relieve back pain, minor headaches, to treat blemishes, that I was pretty sure I would have outgrown by now, and I’ll also use it when I feel a little tickle in my throat coming on. This is a must have essential oil in my house.
